Improving your DPS in Raids

The most important thing to maximize your DPS is obviously to make sure that your spec is optimal as well as your rotation.

The two most widely used builds for PvE are:
1. Combat Swords
2. Combat Daggers

These are the standard builds and there are some slight variations with the filler talents such as Improved Sprint, Improved Kick etc.

DPS Rotations

The number one priority in any situation is 100% uptime on Slice and Dice (SnD). Generally, one combo point should be built with your respective ability (Backstab/Sinister Strike/Garrote) followed by Slice and Dice. After SnD is up, build as many combo points as you can before you have to refresh SnD. Make sure when you refresh SnD you do not overlap the time, only refresh it when the duration of SnD is at 0s or just about to expire (to time this better, a mod like Power Auras is great). Once SnD is up and you have more combo points to work with, rupture (if the mob is going to survive the duration of it) is favoured over eviscerate. If both SnD and rupture are up, then feel free to use eviscerate (only likely to occur with Adrenaline Rush/Swords). This is pretty much all there is to it; don't let SnD fall off under any circumstances, and use your finishers when you can do so, without SnD falling off.

Poisons

Stick to dual Instant Poison, only use Deadly Poison if you have the AQ20 tome. Even then, most often it's not worth using due to the debuff slots being better utilized for things like spell vulnerabilities (Nightfall, Imp Shadowbolt, Curse of Elements etc).

Mods

BigWigs WiP Edition (Required mods for all raiders)
EnergyWatch (a nice little bar that shows energy ticks - optional)
Natur Enemy Cast Bar (self explanatory, helps in some PvE situations for kicking fears etc. - optional)
Power Auras (shows custom buff durations down to the millisecond. Useful for when Blizzard buff slots are maxed and you cannot see SnD duration - optional)
SpellAlert (provides a large text line for when a target is casting spells. Useful for stunning Wyrmkin fireball volleys - optional)
SWStats (nice to see how you're performing in raids as well as your fellow raiders - optional)

Useful Macros

This is a great macro to maximize your raid DPS. When switching between targets, this immediately turns on your autoattack rather than waiting for the Sinister Strike or Backstab to start attacking. (Replace Sinister Strike with Backstab if daggers). The xx's are to be replaced with the slot number that your Attack button is in (drag Attack from your spellbook on to a bar slot of your choice).
